DNS Agent as a Plug-in
The result of our design process is a plugin that we call the “DNS Agent”. It checks the internal portfolio, compares it with selected third-party data, and helps the user through chat and visuals. The idea is that the plugin could be implemented in an existing domain name system.
Based on the key problems we identified, we focused on three main features to manage and improve data already existing in the domain name portfolio:
- Issue Alerts
- Auto-corrections
- Reversed WHOIS
Since this is a pre-study, we chose to focus on existing data rather than new domain registrations — which relates to the fourth key pain point we identified about the Struggle to meet NIS2 directives. Many registrars already have solutions in place for the registration process, and the agent could be expanded to support that in the future.
Issue Alerts
The Agent checks internal data against third-party sources. If something doesn’t match, it alerts the user and explains what’s wrong.
Auto-Corrections
The agent can take its own actions in routine cases, such as automatically correcting obvious spelling errors according to set rules. These corrections are logged and categorized under ”Approved Actions” or ”Automated Actions”.
New entries are highlighted for easy review.

The hybrid version
The hybrid version lets users switch between conversation and traditional tools, with the domain list updating in real time.
