Who We Are

We are Sofie Knutas and Therése Gustavsson and are master’s students in Digital Design at Kristianstad University. This pre-study combines design research, AI technology, and domain data expertise. Sofie has a background in Computer Science and Therése in Graphic Design. Our academic focus is informatics and design.
Research question
The research question we’re asking in our pre-study is:

This question is both timely and important, as NIS2 and other new regulations give Registrars more responsibility to keep Registration Data accurate and reliable.
Method

To explore this, we used a mixed design research method:
- We conducted a literature review.
- We carried out user interviews with Registrars across the EU and experts in AI. We also got the opportunity to interview the Swedish Registry.
- We followed a service design process by: identifying user needs, ideating, prototyping, testing, and iterating.
What is the key pain points?

With the rise of GDPR and NIS2, registrars face increased responsibility. Our goal: explore how AI, if designed with humans in control, can assist in ensuring data accuracy.
Why is inaccurate registration data a problem?

If data is inaccurate, it can cause issues such as
- Ownership disputes
- Brand damage
- Information being sent to the wrong recipient
- Loss of access to critical domains – among other risks
